Privacy policy
Last updated: May 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Substrate System (the "Service") collects, uses, and shares information about you. It applies to information collected when you create an account, enroll in a course, contact us, or otherwise interact with the Service.
Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address. If you complete a purchase, our payment provider collects payment details on our behalf; we do not store full payment card numbers.
Communications. When you submit our contact form or email us, we collect the message content along with your name and email address so that we can respond.
Usage information. We collect basic technical information about how you interact with the Service, such as pages viewed, course lessons completed, approximate location derived from IP address, browser type, and timestamps. This information helps us understand which content is useful and how to improve the Service.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to: provide and operate the Service; process payments and grant course access; respond to your questions; send transactional messages such as receipts and account notifications; detect and prevent fraud or abuse; and improve our courses and the Service itself.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us operate the Service, including our payment processor, hosting and content delivery providers, and email delivery providers. These providers are bound by confidentiality obligations and may only use information as needed to perform their services. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Substrate System, our users, or others.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and measure how the Service is used. You can disable cookies in your browser, but parts of the Service may not function correctly without them.
Data retention
We retain account information for as long as your account is active. Purchase records are retained as needed for tax, accounting, and legal purposes. You may request deletion of your account at any time; some records may be retained where required by law.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, please use our contact form.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, and destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can delete it.
International users
Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of information to those countries, which may have data protection laws different from those of your country of residence.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the Service or by email.
